Talkshow: Are MÄN OK? Male Loneliness
Talkshow: Are MÄN OK? Male Loneliness
Product details
15 Oct | A talkshow by Fotografiska and MÄN on male loneliness, dating, relationships and how norms around masculinity shape men's social connections. Guest: Kalle Norwald.
There is increasing talk of a “male loneliness epidemic”, of women placing unreasonable demands on men, and of men finding it difficult to navigate what is expected of them in the dating world. At the same time, men’s social networks are often weaker, with hopes that all emotional support will be found in romantic relationships. Tonight’s guest is Kalle Norwald, social worker, psychotherapist and sexologist. Together, we dive into romantic relationships, heteronorms, dating and the ways in which norms around masculinity make it harder for men to maintain and stay in relationships — whether in friendship or love.
In the second part of the evening, we present one possible solution for the future: giving boys support in building strong friendships with one another. Together with the project Killar om relationer and MÄN’s young colleagues, we talk about friendship and how to build, create and maintain strong friendship relationships.
