Talkshow Are MÄN OK: The Scrolling Man – in Swedish
Product details
17 September | A talkshow with Marco Vega on masculinity, digital culture and the forces shaping how we see ourselves and one another.
Are MÄN OK? is a recurring talkshow created by Fotografiska and the organisation MÄN, inviting audiences into open conversations about masculinity, relationships, loneliness, role models and the norms that shape how we relate to ourselves and to others. The format is based on MÄN’s methods for reflection and dialogue, bringing these questions into a cultural setting where art, conversation and live experiences meet.
The programme is hosted by Marco Vega from the organisation MÄN, who has led conversations on masculinity, power and norms for more than fifteen years — from schools and construction sites to the stage. The evening combines thought-provoking entertainment with MÄN’s methods for reflection and dialogue. Rather than a traditional panel discussion, it takes the form of a warm, intimate talkshow where music, personal stories and contemporary analysis meet in the room.
This evening: The Scrolling Man
On 17 September, the first evening in the series explores how digital environments shape images of masculinity — and how scrolling, AI, algorithms and online cultures influence self-image, desire, loneliness, belonging and political direction.
The guest of the evening is Myra Åhbeck Öhrman — writer and lecturer specialising in the internet and digital subcultures.
The conversation asks how the internet shapes contemporary masculinity — from memes, dating apps and self-improvement to the manosphere, ragebait and political radicalisation. And what happens when identity, desire, loneliness and community are increasingly negotiated through the feed.
Expect an evening that is sharp, warm and alive: part cultural talkshow, part collective reflection — with a guest who opens up new ways of thinking about the digital worlds we move through every day, and the versions of masculinity they make visible, desirable or difficult to escape.
