Fotografiska is proud to partner with Magnum Photos to present Curiosity in Practice, a five-day street photography workshop led by Magnum photographer Jonas Bendiksen.
Drawing on more than 25 years of experience, Bendiksen will guide participants through the core elements of visual storytelling—from capturing compelling images in the field to making informed decisions about editing, sequencing, and structure. The workshop explores how a curious, questioning mindset can shape both your creative process and your finished work.
Throughout the week, participants will shoot with clear intention, exploring meaning, approach, and sequencing while developing a personal project.

Schedule
Day 1 — Monday
Objective: Get to know Jonas and your fellow participants to understand who you are as photographers and where you’re at in your journey.
AM: Lecture by Jonas Bendiksen
PM: Each participant shares their background, project ideas and objectives for this workshop.
Late PM: Individual Shooting time – Individually or in small groups, participants explore the city and start shooting.
Day 2 to 4 — Tuesday to Thursday
Objective: Developing personal narratives in photography
AM: Group reviews – Jonas will discuss process, the importance of personal storytelling, and how to find compelling angles on themes of personal interest.
PM: Individual Shooting time – Individually or in small groups, participants continue shooting and working on their project.
Day 5 — Friday
Objective: Create a selection of all the participants’ work.
All day: Final selection of images to create a finished body of work from the pictures shot during the week.
Collective lunch.
