Course: Light like an icon with Jessica Wikström

Overview

A full-day course on flash photography techniques, lighting and tips for starting your own photography business. We will be taking lots of photos and using each other as models. We will finish with a glass of bubbly to celebrate the day!

Jessica Wikström, Fujifilm X Ambassador, specialises in cinematic portraits, fine art and headshots. She runs a studio in Linköping and will be sharing her knowledge of flash photography and techniques, both psychological and practical, over the weekend. We will also be inspired to take our creativity to a new level – perhaps even start earning a little money from our knowledge?

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who wants to explore flash photography and take their portrait photography to the next level. You want to feel confident in different environments and be able to work with everyone from people who are unfamiliar with being in front of the camera to models. You need to have a basic understanding of how the camera works with ISO, shutter speed and aperture. You don't need to have worked with flash before – you'll be experts by the end of the day. 
You are welcome to bring your own camera, or you can borrow one on site. Flashes are available during the course and do not need to be brought with you.

Participants will:

• Get to know Fujifilm cameras.
• Learn 5 lighting setups you can do with 1 flash.
• Learn about different light modifiers and what they do. A good foundation to have so you can start charging for your photography!
• Photograph your own portfolio using these lighting setups.
• Learn about business, pricing, getting started and earning money as a photographer.
• How to get people who are unfamiliar with being in front of the camera to relax and pose.
• A cheat sheet with the lighting setups.
• SD-card is included to save your imagery for the day.

This is a one-day course at Fotografiska at 10AM-4PM.
Book either Saturday March 21 or Sunday March 22.
